What child custody has to do with supper time

No two Missouri families are the same. Every family travels its own path and faces various issues and struggles along the way, especially during divorce. What causes most concern regarding child custody and related matters may not always be what parents might typically assume.

A woman in another state who was adjusting to life after divorce said her biggest worry was not knowing what her former husband was feeding their children for supper. She also said it took a long time to trust that her children’s father had their best interests at heart. The woman stated that she and her former spouse made several agreements to forge a better alliance as they moved forward with their post-divorce parenting plan.

One of the things the woman advises others going through divorce to do is take one day at a time. She says it helps to avoid becoming adversarial and to develop clear boundaries regarding what behavior is considered appropriate between parents. For instance, some might determine it is unacceptable to show up unannounced for visits.

Most parents in Missouri want what is best for their children, although some might disagree as to how that is interpreted. Those willing to cooperate and compromise increase their chances of achieving healthy, ongoing relationships after divorce. Any parent unable to resolve a current issue with a former spouse can seek guidance by contacting an experienced family law attorney who can tailor child custody or related guidance to best fit a particular family’s immediate needs and long-term goals.
